Terms of Service
Last updated: August 2026
By using Hachlata (operated by Lavi Klein), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Who can use it
You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must permit your use.
What Hachlata is
A personal habit-tracking tool for taking on resolutions (hachlatos), with streaks, reminders, optional leaderboards, friends and groups, and optional features such as sharing a streak card or composing a Du"ch email. We may add, change, or remove features over time.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for the information you provide, including a truthful birth year. You can delete your account at any time from within the app.
Acceptable use
Do not impersonate others or choose misleading or offensive usernames; do not misuse, disrupt, or try to access other users' data; do not harass others; do not use the app for any unlawful purpose; and do not try to manipulate streaks, scores, leaderboards, or challenge results.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you create, such as your resolution titles and username. You grant us a limited license to store and display it only to operate the app for you (for example, to show your username on a leaderboard you opted into). You choose each resolution's visibility.
Religious content — important
Hachlata is a personal tool, not a source of halachic or rabbinic authority, and nothing in it is a religious ruling. For guidance, consult a qualified rav. The Du"ch feature only helps you compose an email and hands it to your own email app — we do not send it and cannot guarantee its delivery or receipt.
Challenges and sponsorships
We may offer optional community challenges. Any challenge with a prize will have its own official rules and may not be available everywhere. We may also display sponsorship or dedication messages; showing a sponsor's message is not an endorsement and gives the sponsor no access to your information.
Third-party services
The app relies on Supabase (hosting), Expo (updates), the Apple App Store and Google Play, and — for the Du"ch feature — your own email provider. Their terms apply to their parts of the service.
Availability and changes
We aim to keep the app running but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may update or change it at any time.
Disclaimers
The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. Please keep your own records of anything important.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lavi Klein will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the app, and total liability for any claim will not exceed US $50. Some places do not allow certain limitations, so some may not apply to you.
Termination
You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the app or its users.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the app evolves or the law changes. We will post the update and, for material changes, give reasonable notice.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable where the provider resides, and any disputes will be handled there.
